Greek melodic Power metal masters Firewind, the group led by guitar-wizard and Ozzy Osbourne band member Gus G., are proud to announce the release of their upcoming 8th studio album, 'Immortals', which will be released on January 20th, 2017 via the band’s long-time label partner Century Media Records in Europe. Gus G. checked in to comment about 'Immortals' and its artwork (which can be seen above!) as follows: “Today we're very happy to reveal the cover artwork for our 8th studio album. It's titled "Immortals" and it's the first concept album Firewind has ever made. Since we're from Greece, we thought it would be a cool idea to make a concept of Greek history and heritage. So, on this album we focused on the legendary battles of Thermopylae and Salamis during the 2nd Persian invasion of Greece in 480 BC. The artwork was once again created by our long-time collaborator, Gustavo Sazes and we feel it reflects the vibe we tried to capture on this album - Epic, Powerful, Glorious, Everlasting.” 'Immortals' marks the first time Firewind used an outside co-producer, working with Dennis Ward (Unisonic, Pink Cream 69), who not only engineered, mixed and mastered the album, but also co-wrote it together with Gus G. Next to the standard jewel case CD and Digital Download formats, “Immortals” will also be released as LP on 180gr vinyl with a poster as well as the entire album on CD as bonus. Additionally, there will also be a limited edition Media-book CD with expanded booklet, a bonus track and 3 stickers. Look out for more details and pre-order details soon… A first album’s online single is set to debut on November 25th, but in the meantime you can already check out a few sample riffs in a play-through clip that Gus G. recorded in co-operation with Toontrack’s EZmix 2 and the Metal Guitar Gods 4 EZmix Pack expansion here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5E7SFBKYVcU Gus G. and Toontrack have also launched a regular "Metal Month Masterclass" series of video lessons, of which the first two episodes can be seen here: 1. Stream "Milestones of Time" at: http://puregrainaudio.com/audio/ukrainian-melodic-power-metallers-defiant-stream-new-track-milestones-in-time-exclusive-premiere Defiant will release sophomore full-length album Time Isn't Healing November 25 through Ferrrum Records. Pre-order it at this location. Check out New Noise Magazine's exclusive stream of new song "Funeral Feast" at: http://newnoisemagazine.com/song-premiere-defiant-funeral-feast/ Since its formation in 2008, Defiant's mission has been to enthral fans with a brand of power metal that is as muscular as it is melodic. Defiant went on to release no less than three EP's and 2012's full-length debut Masquerade, collectively laying the groundwork for what can only be called its magnum opus: Time Isn't Healing. The crunching riffs and soaring leads of guitarist Andrey Turkovsky blend seamlessly with the epic, often breathtaking keyboard work of Victoria Terzieva, while Stanislav Proshkin's gritty yet tuneful vocals offer a captivating stamp of distinction. The clanging bass lines of Oleg Yakovlev and airtight drumming of Eugeniy Smolin form a robust rhythmic foundation. But it's the quality and consistency of the songwriting that is perhaps most impressive about the new album. Whether the up-tempo power metal pummel of "Milestones of Time" or the mid-tempo elegance of "According to the Acts," Time Isn't Healing sinks the hooks in deep and keep the listener in a state of rapt attention from beginning to end. "Recommended for fans of Megadeth, Helloween, Sonata Arctica, Rhapsody of Fire, Therion, Iced Earth, Sabaton." - Metal Bands Underground "Catchy heavy metal riffs iced with keyboards and topped by gruff vocals are Defiant's modus operandi." - Metal-Rules http://defiant-band.com/ https://twitter.com/defiant_band https://www.facebook.com/DefiantBand/ Defiant YouTube |
